For years, there have been two big supplements used for workouts. Some have used creatine to help to improve energy, wellbeing, and muscle health. And others have used caffeine to increase energy, mental wellbeing, and overall fat burning abilities. These have both been staples in the diets of the average dieter, athlete, and everyday citizen trying to improve their ability to lose weight, bulk up with muscle, or in general, be healthier. So the natural assumption of many would be that you should naturally combine the two to get even greater benefits! And as such, there are a number of companies who have done just that.
They address two different types of energy, two different types of wellbeing, and two different approaches to weight loss and other benefits associated with these particular ingredients. So can they work together, or is it just a waste of your time to use this kind of cocktail?
The products that happen to use this particular cocktail are wildly popular on today’s market. Everybody talks about them as if they are the best thing since sliced bread. They are often hyped up, receiving quite a bit of attention. And when the average consumer actually knows what these are, obviously they become that much more popular.
But scientific studies have not reflected the advertising at this given time. Advertisements have shown that these particular combinations do not provide particularly potent or beneficial results. In fact, a recent study indicated that they may actually hinder one another. In other words, they may well lessen the results that you could ideally get with either of the ingredients. The metabolism journal recently published a study stating that the interaction between the two substances actually leads to a breakdown of tissue due to the caffeine content, knocking out the possible benefits of creatine! And it can interfere with the metabolism of creatine in the muscles while also acting as a natural diuretic, eliminating the water that creatine surrounds muscles with!
When you use any given creatine supplement, the idea is to increase energy and endurance for greater muscle building. When you use a caffeine supplement, you want to increase energy and thermogenic fat burning results. But when you combine these two ingredients, the results are not even the same as they would be with the individual ingredients added together. They do not strengthen the product by any means, they weaken each other leading to a largely undesirable product.
